Alameda del Río

Overview

Insight

Alameda del Río, a housing project in Barranquilla, forms an integral component of a significant development encompassing the city’s residential, urban, and commercial sectors. This expansive initiative aims to enhance the overall landscape and provide diverse amenities catering to the needs of its residents and the broader community.

Challenge

The challenge was to design two distinct areas within the construction site: one for the sales department and another for a housing trade show in the city. It was crucial to maintain simplicity to adhere to the budget while ensuring attractiveness and appeal to customers, avoiding any perception of cheapness in their purchasing experience. Therefore, the design needed to strike a balance between cost-effectiveness and aesthetic appeal to create a welcoming environment for potential buyers.

Solution

The design incorporated a substantial amount of recycled wood to craft an enclosed atmosphere, infusing natural elements to counteract any sense of claustrophobia and imbue freshness into the space. Opting for white as the primary color choice was a deliberate decision aimed at evoking a sense of cleanliness, openness, and elegance, thus enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal. Additionally, strategically placed greenery further augmented the ambiance, fostering a harmonious connection between the indoor environment and the surrounding nature.
